Thanks for taking the time to stop in and see what we do, and most important, how the BUNK-MADE came about.  I am one of the business owners and my career has  been driving truck over the long road for over 28 years.  And, as most truck drivers know, you seem to have a lot of time to do a lot of thinking over the miles.  

 

When I able to come home, I spent most of my time with my business partners, my mother (Janice), and my step-dad (John) and I can't  forget my traveling partner and best friend, my dog. Which brings me to how the BUNK-MADE all came about. I stumbled across the idea of BUNK-MADE during one of my trips to California. 

 

It was a long trip with many nights on the road.  One late night, just like every night, my dog headed back to the bunk and he did his normal circling and pawing around to get a comfortable place to lay down.   As usual,  I looked back at my bunk and my blankets going in all different directions, and thought about having to make my bed before I crawled in it each night. And on top of that, me being to tired to care.  Most drivers like me, know what I mean.

 

So for about 20 years I have basically made do with just crawling into my bunk and not caring to much about which direction my blankets were.  This is, until I came up with an idea that just might fix that.  That long trip to California in 1995 changed all of that.  For generations my family has been into quilt making, so once I came up with the idea and made the call to my mother to fill her in about it, 20 years later, is what we now call the "BUNK-MADE".

 

That all took place in the year 1995 and we have been working on perfecting the design, personally used and tested myself, with the truck driver in mind for comfort as well as efficiency.  In the year 2015 the first official BUNK-MADE was sold and we opened the store located in the Petro Convenience Store located in Waterloo, NY.  Since then we have made and sold many BUNK-MADE's to customers throughout the US and Canada.  In the last couple years we have expanded in making the BUNK-MADE in bunk bed size so that it would be easier for younger children to make their beds.

As I mentioned, for many generations our family has been making quilts, mostly for ourselves and family members.  The pictures on this site only show a few of the quilts and bunk-mades that have been made in the last 3 years, but will continue to add more pictures of a few of the quilts that were made before that time.   We will also be updating the sight with new designs that we came up with and our customers have come up with as well.
